Network migration: Carrier
With the TELES Softswitch solution, all of the class 4 scenarios are mapped on a platform:
- International long distance and International Gateway Solutions on TDM and NGN/VoIP technology
- Wholesale Solutions on a TDM and NGN/VoIP basis, with the support of Wholesale Trading Platforms
- Carrier Interconnects on a TDM (SS7) basis, with TELES MGC and Media Gateways
- Carrier interconnects on an NGN/SIP basis, with TELES Interconnect SBC (NNI-SBC)
- Replacement of existing systems (e.g. Cisco PGW) while continuing to use the existing Media Gateways
Advantages:
- NGN/VoIP and classic TDM (SS7) peering running on one platform
- Central routing for both worlds
- Media and Signalling Gateway support – regardless of the manufacturer
- Investment security thanks to the dual usage support for media gateways (TDM resources become transcoding resources in VoIP peering)
- Carrier class scalability and availability
- IMS-conform architecture (BGCF, MGCF, SGW, MGF, T-MGF, IBCF, I-BGF)
- NFV software solution on COTS servers
- Significant OPEX savings compared to legacy switching platforms (in terms of the power, space, support, etc.)
- More than 25 years of international experience setting up and migrating voice networks
